“Between” explores a transitional state in which one is suspended — caught between who she was and who she has not yet become. She may be held by childhood dreams, by comfort, or by the weight of a present that no longer moves forward.
There is no release here, because this state is a condition of being. Between is the moment after the struggle: when resistance has ended, but change has not yet begun.
Acceptance has already taken place.
Movement has not.
This work does not seek resolution, but gives form to the in-between: the fragile pause in which life is neither breaking apart nor fully becoming.
Sometimes the pause is life.
